If the lower price of the HP Omen 16 appeals to you and you prioritize gaming or other performance-intensive tasks, its likely stronger graphics capabilities and processing power make it a compelling choice. On the other hand, if you value a more premium build quality, better screen versatility, and potentially longer battery life for tasks like note-taking, presentations, or other professional uses, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 may justify its higher cost. Keep in mind, the Surface Laptop Studio 2 also offers a touchscreen with stylus support, adding to its appeal for creative professionals. However, it may not match the Omen in raw performance, especially in gaming. Consider what you’ll commonly use your laptop for to determine which trade-offs are acceptable for your needs and budget. NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | October 2021
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."

NotebookCheck

Andreas Osthoff | March 2022
"The new Surface Laptop Studio with its foldable display is supposed to replace the old Surface Book and the overall impression is good after our review. The build quality and the materials are top-notch, the performance utilization of the two components is solid and the device does not show any major flaws in terms of display or speakers, either. The folding mechanism leaves a sold impression as well, but it remains to be seen how it will hold up over the years. The so-called presentation mode is also not ideal since it covers the whole keyboard."
