The HP Omen 16 is designed for gaming and high-performance tasks, offering robust graphics and processing power which is ideal for demanding applications and games, at the expense of battery life and portability. On the other hand, the LG Gram 17 prioritizes portability with its lightweight design and long battery life, making it well-suited for general use, travel, and productivity tasks, however, it may not handle intensive tasks as effectively as the HP Omen. If the price difference is minor, your decision should hinge on whether you value gaming and performance or portability and battery life. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 16 has a better screen than the LG Gram 17 for gaming and AI, while the LG Gram 17 has a better screen for engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the HP Omen 16 and LG Gram 17 both offer high resolution and brightness, with the type of panels they use providing clear and vibrant displays that are easy on the eyes during everyday activities like browsing or watching videos. In engineering and design, users will appreciate that both laptops cover a wide range of colors, which is crucial for accurately rendering designs and images, however, neither excels in the color gamuts typically important for professional color work. When it comes to 3D work and gaming, the lower refresh rates on both laptops mean that although the visuals may be sharp and colors accurate, the motion may not appear as smooth as on laptops with higher refresh rates, which could detract from the immersive experience in fast-paced games or fluid dynamics simulations.

How the HP Omen 16 and the LG Gram 17 compare to other laptops
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
