For a balance of performance and cost, the HP Omen 16 is a solid choice, offering a powerful processor and a dedicated Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU that excels in gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks. Its 165Hz refresh rate and 136.83 PPI make it suitable for fast-moving visuals, though the color accuracy is more average. It's also equipped with a number pad and robust connectivity options, including Thunderbolt ports. However, it's bulkier and heavier than the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i, which may impact its portability. On the other hand, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i, while pricier, provides a more premium experience with a high-resolution Mini LED display that boasts superior color accuracy and brightness, making it ideal for professionals who require precise color representation. Its touchscreen and 16:10 aspect ratio enhance usability for general tasks. The Yoga Pro 9i is also more compact and lightweight, offering better portability and a sleek design. While it still offers good performance with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU, it's slightly less powerful than the Omen 16, particularly for intensive gaming and engineering tasks. It lacks a dedicated number pad and has fewer Thunderbolt ports but includes a fingerprint reader for added security. Ultimately, if you prioritize performance for gaming and engineering tasks and don't mind a larger, heavier device, the HP Omen 16 is the way to go. However, if you value a superior display, portability, and a more versatile form factor for general use, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i is the better investment, despite its higher price point and slightly lower performance capabilities. NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | October 2021
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
