The HP Omen 16 is focused on gaming with its powerful Intel processor and Nvidia graphics card, offering great performance for intensive tasks and gaming at a slightly lower cost, but it's heavier and thicker making it less portable. It has a high refresh rate screen for smooth visuals but a standard resolution and battery life. The Lenovo ThinkPad Z16, on the other hand, has a high-resolution OLED display which is better for creative work, a lighter and slimmer design for portability, and a higher capacity storage and RAM which is great for multitasking and engineering tasks. It uses AMD components that may offer less gaming performance but still handle general use and engineering well. You're trading off a bit of gaming performance and refresh rate for better screen quality, portability, and multitasking capability with the ThinkPad Z16, at a slightly higher cost. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | October 2021
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."

PCWorld

Matthew S. Smith | September 2022
"Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z16 tries has some success in its effort to tweak the ThinkPad formula. The laptop is attractive, yet still tame, and material quality is on par with the best Windows competition. I also like the smooth, responsive haptic touchpad and the wide range of modern connectivity. Yet the Z16 doesn’t fix ThinkPad’s typical weakness: value. Starting around $1,550, and more typically near $1,700, the Z16 finds itself facing alternatives that have better performance or an improved display for the same price, or less."
