If you're looking for a laptop mainly for gaming or graphics-heavy tasks, the HP Omen 16 would be a better pick due to its powerful graphics capabilities and high-performance components, albeit with a potentially shorter battery life and heavier build that's less convenient to carry around. On the other hand, if your priority is a durable laptop with robust build quality, good keyboard, and longer battery life for business or general use, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 would be more suitable, even if it may not handle intensive gaming or engineering software as well as the Omen. How the HP Omen 16 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 compare to other laptops
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
"We like a lot about this laptop. It has many ports, with the inclusion of RJ45-Ethernet as a defining feature. WWAN is upgradable for maximum flexibility and the ThinkPad has many security functions. Working with the ThinkPad input devices is a lot of fun, and Lenovo puts in a serviceable Low Power panel. The AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U delivers a great performance and does not drain the battery fast. Fan noise and temperatures are nothing special, but also far away from bad. With the user replaceable keyboard, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 has a special feature rarely present on most modern laptops."
