The HP Omen 16 could be the better choice if you're looking for a balance between price and performance, particularly for gaming or general use due to its powerful processor and high-end graphics at a somewhat lower cost. Its display offers a high refresh rate favorable for gaming, but with a standard resolution. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkPad P16, while typically higher in price, might be more suitable for professionals in fields like engineering and 3D design. It boasts a higher resolution and color accuracy, which is ideal for detailed visual work, and includes professional-grade NVIDIA graphics. However, it’s also slightly heavier and thicker, which impacts portability. Both laptops have a similar memory and storage configuration. The ThinkPad comes with Windows 11 Pro, which could offer additional features for business users, while the Omen comes with Windows 11 Home. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | October 2021
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."

PCMag

Eric Grevstad | February 2023
"It's only a few months since we gave the MSI CreatorPro X17 one of our rare 4.5-star ratings and our top mobile workstation honor, but the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 1 matches that achievement in a more premium overall build. Ultimately, its build quality, screen, and keyboard give our latest Editors' Choice nod to the Lenovo—it's enough of a monster on almost all fronts that it simply cannot be ignored."
