When choosing between the HP Omen 16 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, think about your primary use. The HP Omen 16 offers better performance for gaming or intensive tasks with its high-end graphics card and processor but is heavier and bulkier, making it less portable. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, while not as powerful for heavy applications, offers a higher resolution screen for sharp visuals and is much lighter and thinner, suitable for general use and portability. If battery life is important, consider that gaming laptops like the HP Omen usually have shorter battery life due to their powerful components. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 16 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro is good.
The HP Omen 16 is very good for engineering and design primarily due to its high-performing CPU and GPU, which are essential for computation and graphic-intensive tasks, and its good screen quality for visual clarity; however, it's less portable and noisier under load. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro, while still good for engineering and design due to its competent CPU and high-resolution screen, trades some performance for better portability and a quieter operation.

How the HP Omen 16 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro compare to other laptops
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
"The main selling point of the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro versus a regular IdeaPad Slim 7 is its faster Core H-series CPU. In reality, the Core i7-11370H is only marginally faster than the U-series Core i7-1165G7 to the point where most users are not likely to notice the benefits. The slight performance uptick comes at the cost of slightly higher power consumption as well meaning owners will have to deal with potentially warmer temperatures or louder fans to compensate. Unless if you happen to be a power user, then the regular non-Pro model will be more than enough. Once you go 90 Hz, you can't go back."
