The HP Omen 15, with a more powerful GPU and higher battery capacity, excels in intensive gaming, 3D work, and engineering tasks but is less portable and pricier than the MSI Modern 14. On the other hand, the Modern 14 is more budget-friendly, lighter, and offers good portability with decent performance for general use and business tasks; however, it has a smaller screen, less storage, and lower performance in demanding applications compared to the Omen 15. Choose the Omen 15 for high-end tasks or the Modern 14 for daily productivity with easier mobility. Give Feedback

The HP Omen 15 and MSI Modern 14 are both good for general use, though the HP Omen 15 is somewhat better.
The HP Omen 15, with its robust AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU, is suitable for demanding tasks and offers a larger screen with high refresh rate, making it also good for gaming, but it is heavier and has less battery life. In contrast, the MSI Modern 14 provides good general performance with its AMD Ryzen 5 CPU and integrated graphics, which is adequate for day-to-day tasks, and it's more portable with a lighter weight and a more compact design, though it compromises on screen size and battery life. Both laptops have quality IPS displays and ample RAM for multitasking, but the Omen 15's superior CPU and GPU make it better suited for performance-intensive applications.

The HP Omen 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the MSI Modern 14 is only fair.
The HP Omen 15 is good for gaming and 3D because it has a powerful Nvidia RTX 3070 graphics card and a high screen refresh rate of 144Hz, which is great for smooth visuals. In contrast, the MSI Modern 14 is only fair in the same categories, as it uses an integrated AMD Vega 7 graphics solution and has a lower screen refresh rate of 60Hz, resulting in less graphic-intensive capabilities and not as fluid gaming experiences.

The HP Omen 15 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The HP Omen 15 boasts a display that delivers high resolution and brightness, ensuring crisp, clear visuals for general tasks and design work, but its lower refresh rate may disappoint gamers looking for smooth motion in fast-paced games. The MSI Modern 14 offers a balanced screen for everyday activities and engineering applications with decent resolution and adequate color reproduction, but like the Omen 15, it falls short for 3D gaming due to a modest refresh rate. Both laptops would benefit from wider color gamuts for professional design work, but they serve well for users with mixed but not highly specialized display requirements.

"We consider around 1,260 Euros (~$1530) for a Ryzen 7 4800H, a GeForce RTX 2060, a 512 GB SSD and 16 GB dual-channel RAM to be a good offer that appeals to price-conscious gamers. Very high details are rarely a problem in the native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. Buyers will also be spoiled with a top-notch battery life that even beats most other notebook classes. If HP now improves the speed of the WLAN module, the stability of the case and the repeatedly criticized picture quality, the competition will have to dress extra warmly."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
