The HP Omen 15 is slightly more expensive and offers good general use performance, suitable for intensive gaming, and has a solid balance of features for 3D rendering and engineering tasks. The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i, while slightly less expensive, has a better battery life, a higher resolution screen, and overall superior performance for 3D, machine learning, and engineering uses. Both have similar portability. If gaming is a priority, and cost is a factor, consider the HP Omen 15; for higher screen resolution and better performance for tasks like 3D rendering and engineering, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i would be more appropriate. NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | January 2021
"We consider around 1,260 Euros (~$1530) for a Ryzen 7 4800H, a GeForce RTX 2060, a 512 GB SSD and 16 GB dual-channel RAM to be a good offer that appeals to price-conscious gamers. Very high details are rarely a problem in the native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. Buyers will also be spoiled with a top-notch battery life that even beats most other notebook classes. If HP now improves the speed of the WLAN module, the stability of the case and the repeatedly criticized picture quality, the competition will have to dress extra warmly."

PCMag

Mark Knapp | August 2023
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
