The HP 250 G10 is a budget-friendly option with a larger screen and more physical ports, making it suitable for general use and everyday tasks. However, its performance is limited due to the less powerful processor and lack of a dedicated GPU, which means it won't handle intensive tasks like gaming or engineering software well. The battery life is shorter, and the screen quality is basic, with a lower resolution and no touchscreen. It's also heavier and bulkier, which affects its portability. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" offers a significant performance boost with its high-end processor and dedicated GPU, making it a better choice for more demanding tasks, including light gaming and machine learning applications. The screen is sharper, with a higher resolution and touch capability, and the color accuracy is superior, which is great for creative work. It's also lighter, thinner, and has a longer battery life, enhancing its portability. The build quality and keyboard are of higher quality, and it comes with premium features like facial recognition. However, it's more expensive and has fewer ports, which might require additional adapters. In summary, if you need a laptop for basic tasks and are on a tight budget, the HP 250 G10 could be sufficient. But if you value performance, screen quality, portability, and are willing to invest more, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" is the better choice, especially for more demanding applications and professional use. Nikolay Palaozov | December 2023
"The HP 250 G10 is a decent budget device that surprises us with its high CPU frequencies under load. Still, our configuration has a Core i5-1335U which doesn’t require significant cooling, if choose a 28W P-series processor, maybe the situation with the clocks could be different. If you want to play some casual game after work, a memory in dual-channel is a must because it increases greatly the iGPU performance."
