When choosing between the HP 250 G10 and the MSI Modern 14, consider your main use cases. The HP 250 G10 is more affordable, but its lower screen resolution and basic Intel graphics might not be suitable for intensive tasks such as 3D design or gaming. The MSI Modern 14, while somewhat pricier, offers a sharper display, AMD's integrated graphics that may handle light gaming and graphic tasks better, and is slightly lighter making it more portable. If battery life and general usage are primary concerns, the HP may suffice, but for better performance and visual experience, the MSI Modern 14 is the stronger option albeit at a higher cost. The MSI Modern 14 is only fair for engineering and design, while the HP 250 G10 is poor.
The HP 250 G10 falls short for engineering and design due to its lower-quality TN screen with poor resolution and basic Intel UHD Graphics, which limits performance for graphic-intensive tasks. In contrast, the MSI Modern 14 has a higher-quality IPS display with better resolution and an integrated AMD GPU, offering fair capability for tasks requiring more visual detail and processing power, though it's not optimal for highly demanding engineering software.

The MSI Modern 14 has a better screen than the HP 250 G10 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP 250 G10's lower resolution and dimmer display impact its ability to provide sharp and vivid images for any kind of use, making it less suitable for tasks that require clarity and detail. The MSI Modern 14 offers a better balance with fair resolution and brightness, enhancing the overall viewing experience for general use and precision work such as engineering and design, but its limited color gamut falls short for professional color work. For gaming and 3D applications, the MSI's display is hampered by a lower refresh rate, which can make fast-paced visuals less smooth compared to screens optimized for these tasks.

How the HP 250 G10 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"The HP 250 G10 is a decent budget device that surprises us with its high CPU frequencies under load. Still, our configuration has a Core i5-1335U which doesn’t require significant cooling, if choose a 28W P-series processor, maybe the situation with the clocks could be different. If you want to play some casual game after work, a memory in dual-channel is a must because it increases greatly the iGPU performance."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
