The Razer Blade 15 and HP 17" Laptop are both good for general use, though the Razer Blade 15 is somewhat better.
The HP 17" Laptop with its larger screen, ample RAM, and a solid CPU is well-suited for day-to-day tasks and multitasking, providing a comfortable user experience for general use, though it's less portable and has average battery life. On the other hand, the Razer Blade 15, while also equipped with plenty of RAM and a high-performance CPU, offers better portability with a more compact form factor and superior screen quality, which appeals to users who need higher resolution and refresh rates for both work and play, at the expense of a higher price.

The Razer Blade 15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the HP 17" Laptop is only fair.
The Razer Blade 15 boasts a superior Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate of 240 Hz, which are very important for smooth, high-quality gaming and 3D experiences, compared to the HP 17" Laptop's integrated Vega 8 graphics and 60 Hz refresh rate. Although both laptops offer similar CPUs and good screen quality, these key differences in GPU and refresh rate are what separate their gaming and 3D capabilities.

The Razer Blade 15 is very good for engineering and design, while the HP 17" Laptop is only fair.
The Razer Blade 15 is considered very good for engineering and design use due to its more powerful Intel CPU and Nvidia RTX GPU, which are crucial for demanding tasks and 3D applications, along with a higher resolution display that benefits design work. On the other hand, the HP 17" Laptop, while suitable for engineering, has a less powerful AMD CPU and integrated GPU, and lower screen resolution, which could be limiting for intensive engineering software and intricate design details, but offers a larger screen and is less expensive.

The Razer Blade 15 has a better screen than the HP 17" Laptop for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP 17" Laptop's screen, despite its larger size, has moderate resolution and brightness, making it sufficient for browsing and productivity but lacking the clarity needed for detailed design work or an immersive gaming experience. The Razer Blade 15, with its high-resolution display, shines in general use and design due to vibrant colors and wide color gamuts, ensuring accurate color representation essential for professional editing and CAD work. However, while both screens fall short in gaming and 3D applications, as neither offers the high refresh rates required for smooth motion rendering in fast-paced games or simulations.

"As far as starter laptops go, the HP Laptop 17 is a sound investment. Sure, it might not be the lightest of options, but what you get for the price is a well-rounded machine that fits multiple niches. Whether it be office duties that require you to multi-task between multiple programs, or study tasks in which you’ll spend hours browsing online, this laptop does it all. Plus, when it's time to unwind, you can watch your favorite shows or movies on a super-wide display. What's best of all is that you can do all this for about half a day on a single charge."
"The 2022 Blade 15 offers roughly 15 to 25 percent faster graphics performance and 20 percent faster CPU performance over last year's Core i7-11800H and RTX 3080 model. Thankfully, the system doesn't need to run noticeably louder or warmer to achieve faster results, but both power consumption and battery life take a hit. The higher consumption in particular appears to be a trend amongst many 12th gen Core laptops including the Schenker Uniwill Technology GM7AG8P or MSI Vector GP66 when compared to their previous generation counterparts. We're also glad to not see below-average CPU performance which was the case for the 10th gen Core i7-10875H model."
