The Gigabyte G5 is typically less expensive than the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 and offers a newer GPU model which is better for gaming and 3D tasks. However, the Legion Slim 7 has a better battery life, higher color accuracy, and more RAM out of the box which benefits multitasking and engineering applications. The Legion Slim 7 is also slightly thinner and offers a higher screen refresh rate. If budget and gaming performance are priorities, consider the Gigabyte G5, but for longer battery life, better screen quality, and overall performance, particularly in professional tasks, the Legion Slim 7 is the superior choice. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" and Gigabyte G5 are both good for general use, though the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" is somewhat better.
The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" outperforms the Gigabyte G5 in general use due to a better combination of screen quality, with a higher brightness and color coverage, and double the RAM which boosts multitasking capabilities. Furthermore, its longer battery life and lighter weight contribute to greater portability, making it more suitable for users on the go, whereas the G5, despite its fair performance, is hampered by lesser screen quality, lower RAM, and a shorter battery life.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a better screen than the Gigabyte G5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Gigabyte G5's fair screen might not offer the clarity and vibrance you'd get from the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 due to the latter's higher resolution and brightness. The Legion Slim 7 also edges out the G5 in engineering and design work because it displays a wider range of colors more accurately. However, neither is ideal for gaming or 3D applications, as both lack high refresh rates that provide smoother visuals and a more immersive experience in fast-paced scenarios.

How the Gigabyte G5 and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" compare to other laptops
"The Gigabyte G5 KE is a midrange gaming laptop that checks most boxes. Gigabyte makes good use of the Core i5-12500H and RTX 3060 Laptop GPU combo, and we find no untoward issues with overall performance. The dual-fan quad-heatpipe cooling arrangement does well to ensure that the underlying hardware doesn't throttle under load. That being said, the display is below par when compared to 2023 standards, especially when competing devices."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
