For a balance of performance and portability, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (2024) is a strong contender. It offers a higher resolution display with better color accuracy, which is great for detailed visual work, and a more efficient 16:10 aspect ratio, though with a smaller screen size than the Gigabyte. The Legion's battery life is also more suitable for on-the-go use. However, if you prioritize raw performance, especially for gaming or intensive engineering tasks, the Gigabyte Aorus 17H with its more powerful Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU and larger 17.3-inch screen could be the way to go, despite its bulkier design and shorter battery life. The Aorus also provides additional connectivity options with its Thunderbolt ports, which might be crucial for certain peripherals or data transfer needs. Consider your primary use case and whether you value performance over portability and battery life to make your decision. Give Feedback

How the Gigabyte Aorus 17H and the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (2024) compare to other laptops
"Overall though, it’s *lots of swearing* fast, seriously. For work, rendering, gaming, it doesn’t matter, this is a true weapon of performance that’s going to run rings around most high-end desktop systems. If you absolutely have to game at ultra-high refresh rates on the go (but within thinking distance of a plug socket), this is the ticket. I can’t see such an extreme being that appealing to everyone, but if you take your gaming seriously, or even professionally, there’s nothing else out there that comes close that you can still fit in your backpack and travel with."
"The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value."
