The Gigabyte Aorus 17H is a premium option offering high performance with a more capable graphics card suitable for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering tasks, with the tradeoff of being more expensive and heavier, which affects portability. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion 5 17" is more affordable and slightly lighter, making it more portable, but it has less storage capacity and a less powerful graphics card, which could limit performance in demanding applications. Both have similar screen sizes and types but the Gigabyte has a higher refresh rate which is better for fast-motion activities like gaming. Choose the Gigabyte for top performance in demanding tasks if the budget allows, or the Lenovo for more balanced cost and portability with satisfactory performance for general use and moderate gaming. The Gigabyte Aorus 17H is very good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo Legion 5 17" is good.
The Gigabyte Aorus 17H provides highly superior gaming and 3D experiences due to its much more powerful Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU and an exceptionally high screen refresh rate, which are very important for these activities. In comparison, while the Lenovo Legion 5 17" is capable of gaming and 3D tasks, its Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU and lower screen refresh rate mean it won't perform as well as the Aorus 17H in very demanding situations.

The Gigabyte Aorus 17H has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion 5 17" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, both the Gigabyte Aorus 17H and Lenovo Legion 5 17" offer panels with pleasing resolution and brightness, making text and images clear and easy on the eyes, which is crucial for everyday tasks like browsing the internet or working on documents. When it comes to engineering and design, these laptops have color ranges that adequately cover the color gamuts essential for precision in visual work, but may fall short for the most color-critical tasks. However, both laptops may disappoint gamers and professionals working with 3D graphics, as their refresh rates are lower, leading to less fluid motion and longer response times which could detract from the gaming experience and the smoothness needed in fast-paced 3D rendering.

How the Gigabyte Aorus 17H and the Lenovo Legion 5 17" compare to other laptops
"Overall though, it’s *lots of swearing* fast, seriously. For work, rendering, gaming, it doesn’t matter, this is a true weapon of performance that’s going to run rings around most high-end desktop systems. If you absolutely have to game at ultra-high refresh rates on the go (but within thinking distance of a plug socket), this is the ticket. I can’t see such an extreme being that appealing to everyone, but if you take your gaming seriously, or even professionally, there’s nothing else out there that comes close that you can still fit in your backpack and travel with."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 17 is a current-gen 17-inch gaming laptop and equipped with the latest AMD CPU and a powerful GPU, that manages to reach its full potential. The AMD Ryzen 5 5600H is a very good choice for this laptop and able to maintain its performance level for long periods of time. Our test model only falls behind consistently in a direct comparison with its competitors that are often equipped with eight cores and 16 threads. Despite this, the Legion 5 17 leaves an excellent impression and is almost able to keep up with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 mobile GPU in synthetic benchmarks."
