If portability is crucial with good battery life, prefer the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 as it's lighter and offers longer battery life for typical use. For those requiring the highest screen resolution and better color accuracy for tasks like photo editing or design, the Gigabyte Aero 17 with its larger, higher-resolution display excels. The Lenovo is more suited for everyday use and gaming with a high-refresh-rate screen. The Gigabyte, while more expensive, is geared towards creative professionals, offering top-tier screen quality and performance for intensive tasks like 3D rendering and engineering software. Both have solid build quality and heat management, but Lenovo has a slight edge in portability and battery, whereas Gigabyte leads in screen attributes and raw performance for demanding applications. The Gigabyte Aero 17 has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 for general use, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a better screen for gaming and AI, and content creation.
The Gigabyte Aero 17's screen is optimal for general use and engineering tasks due to its high resolution and brightness, plus its wide color gamut covering ample DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, making it highly suitable for color-critical applications. However, due to its lower refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth visuals in Gaming and 3D applications, it falls short for those uses. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 provides sharp and bright visuals with very good color reproduction for both general activities and color-sensitive work, while like the Aero 17, its less-than-ideal refresh rate makes it less favorable for Gaming and 3D work where fast-paced imagery is common.

How the Gigabyte Aero 17 and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16" compare to other laptops
"Not only is the Aero 17 a very good laptop for gamers but also for content creators. With the upgrade to the Intel Core i9-11980HK, Gigabyte particularly improved the system performance. In addition, the hardware package is rounded by the extremely fast SSD and 32 GB of working memory in dual-channel mode. Compared to the predecessor, the battery life is reduced only moderately, and the 4K display also basically keeps its good qualities."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
