The MSI Raider GE76 is very good for general use, while the Gigabyte A5 is good.
The MSI Raider GE76 is considered very good for general use due to its higher performing CPU, double the RAM, superior screen quality with higher resolution and brightness, and more expansive storage compared to the Gigabyte A5, despite the Raider GE76 being less portable and having a comparable battery life. The Gigabyte A5, on the other hand, maintains a balance between performance and portability, with its lighter weight and smaller screen size, suitable for general use but not as high-performing or feature-rich as the Raider GE76.

The MSI Raider GE76 has a better screen than the Gigabyte A5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, you’ll find that both the Gigabyte A5 and MSI Raider GE76 offer pleasing visuals with their resolutions and bright displays, enhancing everyday tasks such as browsing the web or streaming videos. When it comes to engineering and design, the MSI Raider GE76 stands out due to its wider color coverage, ensuring more accurate color representation which is critical for professional design work. However, for gaming and 3D applications where smooth motion is key, both laptops may not be ideal because they lack high refresh rates that provide fluid movement and reduced motion blur in fast-paced scenes.

"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"The MSI Raider GE76: with Alder Lake and RTX 3080 Ti to gaming heaven. Yes, MSI could improve some aspects (like the quality of the webcam), but the manufacturer offers a very convincing and balanced overall package. The biggest advantage is definitely the immense performance potential. The combination of Core i9-12900HK, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB DDR5 RAM and two NVMe SSDs offers a lot of performance for the next couple of years and plenty of power for 3D applications. Most titles would run smoothly on an external 4K screen no matter the quality preset. We came away impressed with the integrated 360 Hz panel's fast response times and good color accuracy."
