The LG Gram 17 is very good for engineering and design, while the Gigabyte A5 is good.
The Gigabyte A5 is favored for engineering and design due to its robust Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU and ample RAM, lending considerable power for software that demands high graphical performance. On the other hand, the LG Gram 17 offers a larger and higher-resolution screen with superior color accuracy, accompanied by a more powerful CPU, making it ideal for detail-oriented tasks, despite having an integrated GPU which may be less suitable for heavy-duty graphics work.

The Gigabyte A5 has a better screen than the LG Gram 17 for gaming and AI, while the LG Gram 17 has a better screen for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Gigabyte A5 and the LG Gram 17 offer clear, bright displays at high resolutions, which makes text sharp and colors vibrant, contributing to a comfortable viewing experience for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming. Regarding engineering and design, these laptops provide a wide color gamut, ensuring that professionals can see accurate colors and fine details, though the caliber of color representation might not meet the highest industry standards for color work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both models fall short due to their lower refresh rates, which can make fast-paced visuals less smooth, although they still maintain decent resolution and panel quality for less demanding visuals.

"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
