The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 is very good for engineering and design, while the Gigabyte A5 is good.
The Gigabyte A5 is equipped with a high-performance CPU, ample RAM, and a dedicated GPU that handles engineering simulations and design software with ease, plus it boasts a quality screen for detailed visuals; however, it's less portable and has a louder operating noise. Meanwhile, the Lenovo ThinkPad X13, while still capable in CPU and RAM for most engineering tasks, has a focus on portability, a renowned keyboard for comfort, and operates more quietly, but it may not match the A5 in raw GPU performance or screen vibrancy for the most demanding design work.

How the Gigabyte A5 and the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 compare to other laptops
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"The Lenovo ThinkPad X13 G4 has very good input devices, a wide array of security features and ports as well as 5G in the tested configuration. It is more compact and lightweight compared with its predecessor, and it has improved speakers and a slightly better webcam. On the other hand, the fan is more annoying and the performance is barely improved. The battery is worse as well, but this is primarily attributable to the OLED screen - if this aspect is important, buyers should choose the IPS Low Power LCD."
