The Gigabyte A5 is a more budget-friendly option and is lighter, which makes it better for portability, but it has a lower battery capacity, less storage, and a lower quality display than the Lenovo Legion 7. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion 7 boasts a better display with a higher resolution and refresh rate, which is beneficial for detailed engineering work and a better gaming experience. It also has a higher battery capacity and can be more suitable for intensive 3D tasks or machine learning due to the more powerful main processor and GPU. If you prioritize performance and display quality over cost and portability, Lenovo Legion 7 is the better choice. However, if you seek a more affordable, portable laptop and can compromise on screen quality and performance, the Gigabyte A5 should suffice. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion 7 is very good for engineering and design, while the Gigabyte A5 is good.
The Gigabyte A5 is equipped with a capable AMD Ryzen 5 processor and Nvidia RTX 3060 GPU, making it a solid choice for engineering and design, particularly considering its combination of good screen quality and sufficient RAM for many tasks. However, the Lenovo Legion 7 surpasses it with a more powerful AMD Ryzen 7 processor and superior Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU, alongside a higher resolution screen which benefits detail-oriented engineering work; although it is slightly less portable and potentially noisier under load due to its more robust hardware.

The Lenovo Legion 7 has a better screen than the Gigabyte A5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When choosing between the Gigabyte A5 and the Lenovo Legion 7, for general use and engineering or design work, the Lenovo Legion 7 offers a higher quality display due to its superior resolution and brightness, which enhance visibility and detail, along with better color accuracy, providing wider color gamuts that are crucial for detailed design work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both laptops have poorer screen quality because they lack the high refresh rates needed for smooth motion and fast-paced visuals that gamers and 3D designers typically require. The panel type and resolution are still important for gaming and 3D, but their impact is less significant without a high refresh rate.

"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"The Lenovo Legion 7 is a fast 16-inch gamer with 165 Hz display. The new Lenovo Legion 7 is a very good gaming notebook that, despite its comparatively compact compact 16-inch case, does not have to do without the most powerful components. Thanks to good cooling, no compromises are made in terms of performance. Both the Core i9-12900HX and the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti perform at a very high level."
