If you prioritize gaming or tasks involving 3D rendering and machine learning, the Gigabyte A5, with its dedicated Nvidia graphics card, will perform better. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, which can be inconvenient if you're on the move. The HP 17" Laptop, with its integrated graphics, is not as powerful for intensive tasks but is more portable and offers a larger screen, which might be better for general use and work that benefits from more screen real estate. If budget is a concern, the HP is generally less expensive and could be a more economical choice for everyday tasks. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte A5 is good for gaming and AI, while the HP 17" Laptop is only fair.
The Gigabyte A5 is superior for gaming and 3D due to its more powerful Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card and a higher screen refresh rate that enhances smooth visuals, compared to the integrated graphics and standard refresh rate on the HP 17" Laptop. While both feature similar screen quality and capable CPUs, the dedicated GPU and faster refresh rate of the A5 are crucial for performance in gaming and 3D tasks.

The Gigabyte A5 is good for engineering and design, while the HP 17" Laptop is only fair.
The Gigabyte A5 is suitable for engineering and design due to its powerful combination of an AMD processor and Nvidia graphics, complemented by a high-quality IPS screen and a reasonable battery capacity, whereas the HP 17" Laptop's strengths include a bigger screen with comparable quality and a more recent AMD processor integrated with Vega graphics, which may offer slightly less graphical horsepower but can lead to improved battery life and portability. However, the HP falls short in GPU performance for tasks that require intense graphical processing, making the A5 a potentially better choice for GPU-intensive engineering software or design applications.

The Gigabyte A5 has a better screen than the HP 17" Laptop for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Gigabyte A5 stands out with a high-resolution display and good brightness, enhancing visual clarity and detail for everyday tasks and engineering designs. Its color gamut coverage satisfies professionals requiring color accuracy for design work. In contrast, the lower refresh rate limits the A5 when it comes to the smooth visuals critical for gaming and 3D applications, whereas the HP 17" Laptop's fair screen quality is adequate but not exceptional for both everyday and design tasks due to average brightness and resolution, and its gaming and 3D performance are hampered by similar shortcomings in refresh rate.

How the Gigabyte A5 and the HP 17" Laptop compare to other laptops
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"As far as starter laptops go, the HP Laptop 17 is a sound investment. Sure, it might not be the lightest of options, but what you get for the price is a well-rounded machine that fits multiple niches. Whether it be office duties that require you to multi-task between multiple programs, or study tasks in which you’ll spend hours browsing online, this laptop does it all. Plus, when it's time to unwind, you can watch your favorite shows or movies on a super-wide display. What's best of all is that you can do all this for about half a day on a single charge."
