When choosing between the Gigabyte A5 and the Aorus 15X, consider that the A5 is less expensive and offers reasonable performance for everyday tasks and some gaming. However, the Aorus 15X has a more powerful processor and a higher-end graphics card, making it more suitable for demanding games, 3D work, and intensive engineering applications. The Aorus 15X also has a higher resolution display with a faster refresh rate, better for creative work and high-end gaming, but it comes at a higher price and might be slightly heavier, which could affect portability. In terms of storage, the Aorus 15X typically offers more. Battery life varies with usage, but the Aorus 15X tends to have a larger battery, possibly offering longer unplugged use. The Gigabyte Aorus 15X and Gigabyte A5 are both good for general use, though the Gigabyte Aorus 15X is somewhat better.
The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is rated very good for general use because it offers a more powerful CPU, double the storage capacity, a higher resolution and more vivid screen, and longer battery life compared to the Gigabyte A5, which still provides good general use efficiency with a capable CPU and GPU, ample RAM, and a satisfactory screen but falls short in battery life and screen quality. However, the Aorus 15X’s enhancements also come with a slight increase in weight, which may affect portability.

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a better screen than the Gigabyte A5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Gigabyte A5's panel type, resolution, and brightness deliver a comfortable viewing experience for everyday tasks, making it suitable for general use. Its satisfactory coverage of color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB ensures that the colors are fairly accurate for engineering and design work. However, its lower refresh rate may not provide the ideal smoothness required for fast-paced gaming and 3D rendering.

"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
