If price is a primary concern and you're looking for a larger screen, the Gateway 15.6" is a cost-effective option that can handle everyday tasks; however, it may have a shorter battery life and be bulkier, making it less portable. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, while more expensive, offers a premium build, better performance for more demanding applications, a longer battery life, and is lightweight, which is ideal if you frequently travel or move around with your laptop. Choose the ThinkBook if you need a higher-performing, more portable device and can afford the higher price. Give Feedback

The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x and Gateway 15.6" are both good for general use, though the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is somewhat better.
The Gateway 15.6" typically offers a balance of performance and screen size, making it suitable for everyday tasks, while its CPU and RAM ensure smooth operation; however, it may not be as easy to carry around as the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, which provides better portability with a compact design and extended battery life, without compromising much on screen quality and performance for common applications. The ThinkBook also tends to have superior keyboard and speaker quality, which enhances the overall user experience, though both laptops usually have sufficient storage and manage heat and noise effectively.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x and Gateway 15.6" are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is somewhat better.
The Gateway 15.6" laptop, with its dedicated GPU and higher screen refresh rate, will handle gaming and 3D tasks better, offering smoother visuals and better performance. On the other hand, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, while having a good screen quality and capable CPU, may not match the Gateway in graphical tasks due to a less powerful GPU and a lower refresh rate, making it more suitable for general use or work tasks rather than demanding gaming or 3D applications.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is good for engineering and design, while the Gateway 15.6" is only fair.
The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x typically offers a more powerful CPU, more RAM, and a higher-quality GPU, which makes it better suited for demanding engineering and design tasks, while also having superior screen quality for detailed visuals. The Gateway 15.6", although more affordable, may lag in performance due to less robust internals, but could be favored for its larger screen size and if portability, keyboard feel, speaker quality, and operating noise are lesser concerns.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x has a better screen than the Gateway 15.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize screen detail and vibrant colors for productivity tasks like word processing and web browsing, the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x may be more suitable due to its higher resolution and brightness compared to the Gateway. For engineering and design work which demands accurate color representation, the ThinkBook 13x's superior color gamut coverage ensures more precise color work. On the other hand, neither laptop is ideal for gaming or 3D work since both lack high refresh rates, with the Gateway being less appropriate due to its relatively lower screen quality overall.

"Some concessions have to be made when shopping for a budget laptop. Walmart's Gateway Ultra Slim laptops succeeds on the affordability front and delivers serviceable specs and good battery life, though it's hard to claim it's the best (or even particularly good) at any particular aspect. Its build quality, especially the touchpad, is mediocre, and its performance is decent but doesn't lead the way. The Gateway does undercut the cost of some competitors and offers ample storage with good connectivity, so it's not to be ignored."
