The Gateway 15.6" is typically less expensive than the LG Gram 16 and offers larger storage out of the box, but it may not perform as well for engineering and 3D/machine learning tasks given its older i5 processor compared to the i7 in the LG Gram 16. The LG Gram 16, while more expensive, boasts a better display with higher resolution and greater color coverage, making it ideal for creative professionals. Its battery capacity is significantly higher, ensuring longer use between charges. For travelers and those valuing portability, the LG Gram 16 is much lighter and comes with a newer operating system. However, if budget and storage are primary concerns, the Gateway is a solid option, especially for general use. Give Feedback

The LG Gram 16 has a better screen than the Gateway 15.6" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the LG Gram's screen offers crisper images and better visibility in various lighting conditions due to its higher resolution and brightness, compared to the Gateway which has a lower resolution and brightness, making it less vibrant. In engineering and design, the LG Gram excels with wider color coverage essential for accurate color work, but the Gateway falls short, lacking in color precision which is critical for these fields. While both laptops have limitations for 3D gaming due to lower refresh rates, the shortcomings are more pronounced on the Gateway since refresh rates greatly affect gaming smoothness and realism.

How the Gateway 15.6" and the LG Gram 16 compare to other laptops
"Some concessions have to be made when shopping for a budget laptop. Walmart's Gateway Ultra Slim laptops succeeds on the affordability front and delivers serviceable specs and good battery life, though it's hard to claim it's the best (or even particularly good) at any particular aspect. Its build quality, especially the touchpad, is mediocre, and its performance is decent but doesn't lead the way. The Gateway does undercut the cost of some competitors and offers ample storage with good connectivity, so it's not to be ignored."
"The LG Gram 16 is a lightweight device with stability issues. The LG Gram 16Z90Q with a Core i7-1260P is made with portability in mind and places less of a focus on users with high demands on performance. The compact and light chassis is particularly practical when you are on the go. The device is not only comfortably small and lightweight, it also boasts a great battery life. When connected to mains, on the other hand, the 16-inch device is rather disappointing. The standard cooling mode causes extreme volatility in terms of CPU, SSD and iGPU performance. The meager stability of the chassis may also put off some potential buyers."
