Choosing between the Dell XPS 13 Plus and the Lenovo Slim Pro 9i involves trading off price, storage, display features, and performance metrics. If high resolution and color accuracy are less critical and you prioritize longer battery life and lower price, the Lenovo Slim Pro 9i, with its larger storage and powerful discrete graphics, suits demanding applications like engineering and gaming. Despite being heavier, it offers a higher refresh rate display and superior performance for 3D and engineering tasks. In contrast, the Dell XPS 13 Plus, while slightly more expensive, is lighter and thus more portable, has a high-resolution OLED touchscreen, and ample general use performance, but with less favorable battery life and no dedicated graphics card, it won't match the Lenovo in graphically-intense tasks. The Lenovo Slim Pro 9i has a better screen than the Dell XPS 13 Plus for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus offers a crisp display with sufficient brightness and resolution for day-to-day tasks and detailed work for engineering and design, but its lower refresh rate can detract from the immersive and responsive experience needed for high-end gaming and 3D applications. The Lenovo Slim Pro 9i, however, stands out with exceptional color accuracy and range, vital for professional photo editing and design work, and its higher resolution and brightness enhance visibility for general use, yet it also falls short for gaming due to a refresh rate that can't match the fluidity demanded by fast-paced games. Both laptops lack the high refresh rates required for smooth and competitive gaming, making them less ideal for 3D and action-packed gaming sessions, but their display qualities are well-suited for productivity, general use, and creative work where color fidelity and clear visuals are paramount.

How the Dell XPS 13 Plus and the Lenovo Slim Pro 9i compare to other laptops
"The XPS 13 Plus is powerful, but has its drawbacks. Dell did not only update the processor generation, but also decided to offer two completely different models from now on. The XPS 13 Plus gets the faster Intel Alder Lake-P chips, and the Core i7-1260P in our review unit offers good performance figures. However, the device once again shows the problems of the current Intel CPUs, because the high performance requires a lot of power. This affects the battery runtime as well as temperatures, so the new model (even with the Optimized power profile) is louder than the older model."
"The Lenovo Slim Pro 9i is an impressive laptop with a brilliant Mini-LED display, a powerful 100-watt version of Nvidia RTX 4050 graphics, and excellent connectivity. Having run the Cinebench benchmark again, we were impressed with the CPU performance. That makes the Slim Pro 9i is an easy recommendation, especially for those who care about GPU and CPU performance. It’s also a fantastic choice if you frequently view HDR movies and games on your laptop."
