The Dell XPS 13 Plus is more expensive and offers a more powerful processor with more memory, an OLED touchscreen with a higher resolution, and is very portable due to its smaller size and weight. However, the Gigabyte G5, while less costly, provides a dedicated Nvidia graphics card, making it better for gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering applications. Nonetheless, it's bulkier, heavier, and has a lower-quality display and battery life. In summary, the Dell is better suited for high-resolution creative work and general use due to its superior display and portability, while the Gigabyte is more appropriate for performance-intensive tasks like gaming at a lower price point. The Dell XPS 13 Plus is very good for general use, while the Gigabyte G5 is good.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus offers a higher screen quality, longer battery life, and greater portability, which are crucial for general use and comfort, while the Gigabyte G5, with its focus on gaming, compromises on these aspects but provides better performance for specialized tasks due to its powerful CPU and ample RAM. The XPS's quieter operation and cooler system also contribute to a more pleasant everyday experience compared to the G5, whose strengths in heat management are more aligned with heavy-duty use.

The Gigabyte G5 is good for gaming and AI, while the Dell XPS 13 Plus is only fair.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus offers a high-quality screen and powerful CPU, making it suitable for gaming and 3D applications, but for those seeking an enhanced gaming experience, the Gigabyte G5's dedicated GPU and higher screen refresh rate will provide smoother visuals and better gameplay performance. While both machines can handle gaming and 3D tasks, the tradeoff comes with the Gigabyte G5 likely being the superior choice for dedicated gamers, despite the Dell's competitive screen quality and processing power.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus is very good for engineering and design, while the Gigabyte G5 is good.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus excels in engineering and design due to its high-resolution OLED screen, ample RAM capacity, and premium integrated GPU, benefiting designers in need of accurate color representation and performance, though it's less ideal for frequent travel given its good but not excellent portability. Meanwhile, the Gigabyte G5, while suitable for engineering tasks, has a lower-resolution screen and less RAM, but offers a dedicated GPU for computational tasks and possesses gaming laptop features, which could make it a better fit for users seeking a balance between work and play but not color-critical work.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus has a better screen than the Gigabyte G5 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus shines in general use and engineering applications due to its high-resolution display, which renders sharp text and detailed images, and provides a wide color gamut, ensuring accurate color reproduction that professionals need. However, for gaming and 3D tasks, its standard refresh rate may not provide as smooth an experience as displays designed specifically for these purposes. On the other hand, the Gigabyte G5's fair screen quality in general use and engineering suggests it has adequate resolution and color coverage, but like the Dell XPS 13 Plus, it falls short for gaming due to a less than optimal refresh rate for fast-paced visuals.

"The XPS 13 Plus is powerful, but has its drawbacks. Dell did not only update the processor generation, but also decided to offer two completely different models from now on. The XPS 13 Plus gets the faster Intel Alder Lake-P chips, and the Core i7-1260P in our review unit offers good performance figures. However, the device once again shows the problems of the current Intel CPUs, because the high performance requires a lot of power. This affects the battery runtime as well as temperatures, so the new model (even with the Optimized power profile) is louder than the older model."
"The Gigabyte G5 KE is a midrange gaming laptop that checks most boxes. Gigabyte makes good use of the Core i5-12500H and RTX 3060 Laptop GPU combo, and we find no untoward issues with overall performance. The dual-fan quad-heatpipe cooling arrangement does well to ensure that the underlying hardware doesn't throttle under load. That being said, the display is below par when compared to 2023 standards, especially when competing devices."
