The Dell Latitude 14 7490 is a budget-friendly option that's significantly less expensive and offers stability with its Intel i7 processor and integrated graphics, making it suitable for general use and basic tasks. However, it's heavier compared to the XPG Xenia 14. The XPG Xenia, despite being costlier, has a newer generation Intel i5 processor with better integrated graphics, which can handle more demanding tasks like light gaming and photo editing. Its display also has a higher resolution and different aspect ratio, which might be preferable for productivity tasks. Additionally, the Xenia is considerably lighter, enhancing its portability. Consider the Dell if cost is a major concern and your tasks are not graphics intensive; choose the XPG Xenia 14 for better performance in graphics-related tasks and a more portable design. The XPG Xenia 14 has a better screen than the Dell Latitude 14 7490 for general use.
For general use, the Dell Latitude's fair screen quality arises from adequate resolution and brightness, which ensure comfortable everyday viewing, but it may lack the panel quality that makes the XPG Xenia's display more vivid. In engineering and design, both laptops offer good screen quality because they cover a wide range of colors, crucial for precise visual work; however, neither is exceptional for gaming and 3D, as their refresh rates are not high enough to ensure the smooth visuals that fast-paced or highly detailed rendering requires. The XPG Xenia maintains its edge in general use scenarios with a better balance between resolution, brightness, and panel quality.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers XPG Xenia 14 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the Dell Latitude 14 7490 is poor.
The Dell Latitude 14 7490 with an older Intel UHD Graphics 620 and the XPG Xenia 14 with a newer Intel Iris Xe both support typical screen refresh rates, which is adequate but not ideal for fast-paced gaming and 3D applications that benefit from higher refresh rates. Both have competent CPUs and quality IPS displays, although neither excels in the very important aspects of GPU performance and refresh rates for gaming and 3D tasks.

How the Dell Latitude 14 7490 and the XPG Xenia 14 compare to other laptops
"The Dell Latitude 7490's got the speed you need (and then some), a keyboard that's comfortable enough for writing all day long and a battery that supports a full 8-hour workday. If only the display were brighter and it managed heat better. If you need every minute of battery life you can get, the extended-battery version of the Lenovo ThinkPad T480 lasts 8 hours longer than the Latitude 7490, but its display is much less colorful."
"The Xenia 14 is a top 14-inch laptop under 1 kg. ADATA isn't exactly known for its laptops and so we weren't expecting much from its first 14-inch Ultrabook. With that said, we're pleasantly surprised by how well the Xenia 14 looks and performs. Not only is it incredibly light, but it has a color accurate 16:10 display, high CPU and GPU performance, easy RAM and SSD serviceability, plenty of port options including Thunderbolt 4, and long battery life. It packs a lot of punch and features considering the size and weight to be better than even the LG Gram series."
