If you prioritize battery life and are using the laptop for general office tasks, the Dell Latitude 5431 is a better choice as it offers longer usage between charges. However, it's more expensive, heavier, and thicker compared to the MSI Modern 14, which is lighter and thus more portable. If budget is a concern, and you need more storage space, the MSI Modern 14 provides greater value for money. It's also newer and has a slightly better build quality assessment. But for demanding tasks like 3D rendering or engineering software, neither of these laptops are ideal; they are more suitable for general use and multitasking. Give Feedback

The Dell Latitude 5431 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for software development, while the MSI Modern 14 has a better screen for general use, and engineering and design.
For general use, both the Dell Latitude 5431 and the MSI Modern 14 offer sufficient resolution and brightness, but their panel types might not provide the most vivid colors or sharpest images. Engineering and design professionals may find the color reproduction on these laptops lacking, as they don't cover the wider color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, which are critical for precision work. Gamers and 3D designers may be dissatisfied with the refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth motion and rendering, while the resolution and panel type may not be up to par for highly detailed graphics work.

How the Dell Latitude 5431 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
