For better performance in tasks like engineering, the Dell Latitude 5330 with its higher RAM and better processor is suitable, but it comes at a higher price. It's also slightly more portable than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 due to less weight, and the battery life is decent. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is more affordable and offers more storage and a larger screen, which can be ideal for general use. It also has a longer battery life, which benefits on-the-go use. However, its performance in more demanding tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning is limited compared to the Dell. Both have IPS displays with similar resolution, but the Lenovo has a touchscreen. Keep in mind, the keyboard and build quality on the Dell are better, and it is positioned as a premium business laptop, whereas the Lenovo has a more budget-friendly build. Give Feedback

The Dell Latitude 5330 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 are both only fair for engineering and design, though the Dell Latitude 5330 is somewhat better.
The Dell Latitude 5330 is rated better for engineering and design due to its more powerful Intel i5 processor with integrated Iris Xe graphics and more RAM, which are very important for such tasks, in addition to a higher-quality screen. While the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 offers a larger screen and more storage, its AMD Ryzen 3 processor and Vega 6 graphics, along with less RAM, might not handle engineering software as adeptly, though it does offer slightly higher portability and better battery life.

The Dell Latitude 5330 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 have similar screen quality.
The Dell Latitude 5330 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 have displays with resolutions and brightness levels that are adequate for daily tasks like browsing and watching videos, making them suitable for general use. For engineering and design, their fair screen quality suggests they don't excel in color accuracy, which is essential for precise visual work, possibly due to limited coverage of professional color gamuts. However, for gaming and 3D applications, both are less ideal as they likely lack high refresh rates needed for smooth motion and may not provide the depth of color or sharpness desired in visually intensive scenarios.

How the Dell Latitude 5330 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
