The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 offers more storage, a larger screen, and a more powerful processor compared to the MSI Modern 14, making it better suited for intensive engineering tasks and general use with a higher performance score. However, the MSI Modern 14 is lighter and more portable, with better battery life for on-the-go use, despite a lower performance score, smaller screen, and less storage. The Dell is also more expensive than the MSI, which is budget-friendly. If you prioritize portability and cost over performance, the MSI Modern 14 is a suitable choice; otherwise, the Dell Inspiron might be preferable for demanding tasks. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 is very good for general use, while the MSI Modern 14 is good.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5635, with its higher-end CPU and larger screen with superior resolution, outperforms the MSI Modern 14 in general use, delivering stronger processing power and a more expansive, detailed visual experience; however, it is less portable and has a shorter battery life. While the MSI Modern 14 offers better portability and longer battery life, making it ideal for on-the-go use, its CPU and screen quality do not match the higher standards set by the Dell, though it remains a capable choice for everyday tasks.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, both the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 and the MSI Modern 14 provide screens with adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks, but their panel types may not offer the wide viewing angles and color vibrancy seen in higher-end models. When it comes to engineering and design, their screens may lack the broad color gamuts necessary for precision work, making them less ideal for professionals who rely on color accuracy. For gaming and 3D applications, their lower refresh rates can lead to less fluid motion, and the resolution and panel type may not deliver the immersive experience desired by enthusiasts.

How the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"Compared to the previous year’s Inspiron, Dell upgraded the screen aspect ratio on this generation, but also transitioned to a more minimalistic centered keyboard flanked by up-firing speakers. The 16-inch screen is huge plus and I really appreciate the extra real estate without sacrificing the footprint much. This year’s model is a little larger than last, though, as the former model was already very small for a 15 incher."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
