The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 has a larger screen, higher resolution, more storage space, and double the memory compared to the MSI GF63 Thin, favoring tasks that benefit from a bigger display and multitasking. It's slightly heavier and thicker but offers better performance for general use and engineering thanks to its processor and integrated graphics, which also results in good battery life for typical usage. The MSI GF63 Thin, on the other hand, with its dedicated Nvidia graphics, is more suitable for intensive gaming and might handle some 3D tasks better, but it has less memory and storage which could be limiting. It's also slightly lighter and has a slightly better portability score, which could be important if you move around often. Both laptops are priced similarly, so the decision should be based on whether you prioritize gaming and portability (MSI) or screen real estate, general use, and engineering performance (Dell). How the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 and the MSI GF63 Thin compare to other laptops
"Compared to the previous year’s Inspiron, Dell upgraded the screen aspect ratio on this generation, but also transitioned to a more minimalistic centered keyboard flanked by up-firing speakers. The 16-inch screen is huge plus and I really appreciate the extra real estate without sacrificing the footprint much. This year’s model is a little larger than last, though, as the former model was already very small for a 15 incher."
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
