The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 is more affordable and offers solid performance for general use; it's lighter, making it more portable and has a longer battery life, which is excellent for travel or long work sessions. However, the Gigabyte Aero 5, while more expensive, provides significantly better performance for 3D, machine learning, and gaming thanks to its powerful GPU. Additionally, its screen has wider color coverage and higher resolution, which is ideal for creative professionals, but it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, so it’s less convenient for on-the-go use. The Gigabyte Aero 5 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5635's fair screen quality for general use stems from an adequate panel type, resolution, and brightness that meet everyday needs but don't excel. Its fair rating for engineering and design is because the color gamut coverage is acceptable for some professional tasks but isn't top-of-the-line for the most color-critical work. The poor gaming and 3D rating is due to a refresh rate that doesn't match the high frame rates demanded by fast-paced games and smooth 3D rendering, even though its resolution and panel quality are acceptable.

How the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 and the Gigabyte Aero 5 compare to other laptops
"Compared to the previous year’s Inspiron, Dell upgraded the screen aspect ratio on this generation, but also transitioned to a more minimalistic centered keyboard flanked by up-firing speakers. The 16-inch screen is huge plus and I really appreciate the extra real estate without sacrificing the footprint much. This year’s model is a little larger than last, though, as the former model was already very small for a 15 incher."
"It is unfortunate that the Gigabyte AERO notebook series have seem to lost its charm, as it’s not exactly any much different from the AORUS series now. Regardless, content creators and designers will certainly still appreciate the features on the AERO 5 XE4, which are fundamental to their work. This largely revolved around the notebook’s display, which is colour calibrated and validated, high resolution (4K) and with great AMOLED colour representation. Now that the AERO 5 XE4 has improved its performance with the latest CPU and GPU, the professionals can also appreciate the improved productivity from the notebook."
