If your priority is a laptop with a dedicated graphics card for gaming or 3D work, the Gigabyte A5 with Nvidia RTX 3060 could be a preferred option despite being heavier and offering a shorter battery life. On the other hand, the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 is lighter, provides longer battery life for general use, and may come with a lower price, but lacks a dedicated graphics card, making it less suitable for intensive gaming or 3D tasks. Both laptops have comparable processors and RAM, but the Dell has a higher resolution screen, which can be beneficial for productivity tasks, whereas the Gigabyte's display is better suited for fast-paced games because of its higher refresh rate. The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 has a better screen than the Gigabyte A5 for software development, and content creation, while the Gigabyte A5 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
When considering general use where panel type, resolution, and brightness are key, the Gigabyte A5 likely offers a more vibrant display and sharper image due to its superior panel quality and higher brightness levels. For engineering and design tasks, this same crisp display, coupled with a likely wider color range, makes the Gigabyte A5 suitable because precise color reproduction is paramount. However, for gaming and 3D applications, despite the A5's good resolution and panel type, the lack of a high refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth motion and responsiveness, means it falls short in delivering an optimal experience in these areas.

How the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 and the Gigabyte A5 compare to other laptops
"Compared to the previous year’s Inspiron, Dell upgraded the screen aspect ratio on this generation, but also transitioned to a more minimalistic centered keyboard flanked by up-firing speakers. The 16-inch screen is huge plus and I really appreciate the extra real estate without sacrificing the footprint much. This year’s model is a little larger than last, though, as the former model was already very small for a 15 incher."
"Ignoring price, the Gigabyte A5 has a hard time against the similarly fast competition. Besides the loud noise in 3D mode (performance mode), the high temperature development of the components should be mentioned on the downside. Despite the relatively thick case, the laptop gets very warm and loud under load, which does not exactly speak for the cooling system. The plastic surfaces look rather cheap and also tend to rattle. In most other disciplines - be it the input devices, the screen, the connectivity or the battery runtime - the Gigabyte laptop does not stand out from the crowd, neither positively nor negatively. However, those who primarily pay attention to the price-performance ratio will get a pretty good offer with the Gigabyte A5."
