The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 is generally a bit more expensive but offers a larger screen with higher resolution, better color coverage, and more storage, making it a solid choice for tasks like photo editing or multitasking with many tabs and applications. However, the Gateway 15.6" has a slightly better balance of portability due to its lighter weight and typically offers similar performance for general use at a slightly lower price point. If you prioritize screen quality and storage, and don't mind carrying a bit more weight, the Dell could serve you well. But for those who need something more budget-friendly and easier to carry around, the Gateway could be more suitable, especially if screen resolution and storage are less of a priority. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 16 5635 has a better screen than the Gateway 15.6" for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, both the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 and the Gateway 15.6" offer screens that provide adequate clarity and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and document editing, but they may lack the resolution for crisp text and images. In the realm of engineering and design, the colors these laptops display might not cover the full ranges needed for precise color work, which can affect professionals who rely on accurate color reproduction for their designs. For gaming and 3D applications, their refresh rates are not high enough for smooth visuals, and the resolution and panel type do not provide the immersive experience desired in high-end gaming or intensive 3D modeling.

How the Dell Inspiron 16 5635 and the Gateway 15.6" compare to other laptops
"Compared to the previous year’s Inspiron, Dell upgraded the screen aspect ratio on this generation, but also transitioned to a more minimalistic centered keyboard flanked by up-firing speakers. The 16-inch screen is huge plus and I really appreciate the extra real estate without sacrificing the footprint much. This year’s model is a little larger than last, though, as the former model was already very small for a 15 incher."
"Some concessions have to be made when shopping for a budget laptop. Walmart's Gateway Ultra Slim laptops succeeds on the affordability front and delivers serviceable specs and good battery life, though it's hard to claim it's the best (or even particularly good) at any particular aspect. Its build quality, especially the touchpad, is mediocre, and its performance is decent but doesn't lead the way. The Gateway does undercut the cost of some competitors and offers ample storage with good connectivity, so it's not to be ignored."
