The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 may suit you if you prefer a larger screen and better general performance for multitasking or daily activities. It is somewhat less expensive, but heavier, making it less ideal for frequent travel. On the other hand, the Dell Latitude 5431 could be more suitable if portability and slightly longer battery life are priorities, as it is lighter and has a more compact form factor. Both offer solid builds and decent performance for general use and engineering tasks, but limited by their integrated graphics, they are not optimized for intensive gaming or high-end 3D/machine learning workloads. The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 has a better screen than the Dell Latitude 5431 for general use, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, the screens on both the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 and the Dell Latitude 5431 are sufficient as they offer decent resolution and brightness, but they might not stand out for crispness or vibrance. In engineering and design, these laptops have limitations in color reproduction due to average color gamut coverage, which can be critical in professional color work. Meanwhile, for gaming and 3D applications, their lower refresh rates can result in less smooth visuals, which is a significant setback for high-speed graphics rendering.

The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 and Dell Latitude 5431 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Dell Inspiron 16 5625 and Dell Latitude 5431 are considered fair for gaming and 3D because both have integrated GPUs—with the Inspiron featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 with Vega 8 graphics and the Latitude an Intel i5 with Iris Xe graphics—that can handle light gaming and simple 3D tasks, but they aren't powerful enough for demanding games or complex 3D rendering. Additionally, both laptops have standard 60Hz refresh rates which is adequate for casual gaming, but dedicated gamers and 3D professionals often prefer higher refresh rates for smoother visuals.

How the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 and the Dell Latitude 5431 compare to other laptops
"I think there is fair value in the Inspiron 16 this year. Very little has changed with the laptop and my opinion hasn’t really changed either. In other words, I like it. Overall, I think the pros far outweigh the cons of this laptop and the price is certainly justifiable. I found this to be a great typer and I could potentially work all day on this machine, provided I don’t need a graphics card."
