If you prioritize more memory for multitasking, the MSI Modern 14 has twice the RAM of the Dell Inspiron 15 3525, which means smoother performance with multiple applications open. The MSI is also lighter and offers better portability, making it a better choice if you're always on the go. However, the Dell has a larger screen, which can be beneficial for productivity and entertainment, especially with its touchscreen functionality. Both have similar graphics capabilities, so either would work for general use and moderate performance tasks, but neither is suited for intensive gaming. Keep in mind the Dell may be a bit more expensive, so if budget is a constraint, the slightly less pricey MSI could be a good fit. Give Feedback

The MSI Modern 14 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 15 3525 for general use, and content creation.
For general use, both Dell Inspiron 15 3525 and MSI Modern 14 offer screens with adequate resolution and brightness levels that ensure comfortable viewing, but may lack the premium panel technology that provides wider viewing angles and better color reproduction. When it comes to engineering and design work, these laptops meet the basic requirements, but professionals might find the color accuracy and range lacking as these laptops may not fully cover professional color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB. For 3D and gaming, the lower refresh rates on both machines mean less fluid motion, which, along with just fair screen resolution and panel types, can hinder the full immersive experience often desired in these applications.

The MSI Modern 14 and Dell Inspiron 15 3525 are both only fair for engineering and design.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3525 offers a fair performance for engineering and design tasks with its mid-range CPU and GPU, suitable RAM for moderate workloads, and a decent quality touch-enabled screen, but it has average portability and a heavier weight. In contrast, the MSI Modern 14 also delivers fair performance with a more powerful CPU and more RAM for handling complex tasks, a non-touch IPS screen with better color accuracy, and excels in portability due to its lighter weight and compact size, yet it might fall short for tasks requiring extensive keyboard use given its lack of a numeric keypad.

How the Dell Inspiron 15 3525 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"Dell's Inspiron 15 (3525) is a peppy-enough and affordable-enough home or remote work machine, but it's not very ambitious; it does little to go beyond the basics. More the concern: It’s readily overshadowed by a number of machines that outperform and outclass it. Even if the Inspiron can get the job done today, its competition has the mettle to keep doing the job tomorrow in a way the Inspiron simply can’t promise. Many of its slightly higher-end rivals have to be on sale (and frequently are) to match it on price, but the Inspiron 15 (3525) is outclassed even by some similarly priced options, making it a difficult recommendation."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
