The Dell Inspiron 15 3525 offers a budget-friendly price with adequate performance for general use, a touchscreen, and respectable portability and battery life making it suitable for everyday tasks. In contrast, the MSI Katana 15, while more expensive, provides superior performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering software due to a more powerful processor and GPU, a higher refresh rate display for smoother visuals, and features like a backlit keyboard and hardware ray tracing, appealing to gamers and professionals with intensive computational needs. However, the MSI Katana 15 is heavier and has a shorter battery life, which could impact its portability for on-the-go use. Give Feedback

The MSI Katana 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Dell Inspiron 15 3525 is only fair.
The MSI Katana 15 offers a superior experience for gaming and 3D applications because it features a stronger Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and a higher screen refresh rate of 144Hz, compared to the Dell Inspiron 15 3525's integrated Ryzen 5 Vega 7 graphics and a 60Hz screen refresh rate. While both have IPS displays with similar resolutions, the MSI's graphics capabilities and smoother motion from a higher refresh rate make it more suitable for fast-paced games and 3D rendering.

The MSI Katana 15 has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 15 3525 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3525 and MSI Katana 15 boast screens that are sufficiently bright and clear for everyday tasks like browsing, but they lack high resolution and peak brightness that can enhance the quality for more demanding general use. Their color coverage doesn't fully satisfy the requirements for professional engineering and design work, where accurate color representation is crucial. For gaming and 3D applications, their lower refresh rates contribute to less smooth visuals, not ideal for the fast-paced imagery that these activities often demand.

How the Dell Inspiron 15 3525 and the MSI Katana 15 compare to other laptops
"Dell's Inspiron 15 (3525) is a peppy-enough and affordable-enough home or remote work machine, but it's not very ambitious; it does little to go beyond the basics. More the concern: It’s readily overshadowed by a number of machines that outperform and outclass it. Even if the Inspiron can get the job done today, its competition has the mettle to keep doing the job tomorrow in a way the Inspiron simply can’t promise. Many of its slightly higher-end rivals have to be on sale (and frequently are) to match it on price, but the Inspiron 15 (3525) is outclassed even by some similarly priced options, making it a difficult recommendation."
"The MSI Katana 15 B12 combines a Gen12 CPU with an RTX 4050, which is actually not a bad idea for a budget gamer. The CPU is anything but bad and the GPU in the Katana 15 proves to be significantly more efficient than last year's models. However, our main point of criticism for budget gamers is the price: while you can get budget laptops with RTX 3060 from around US$800, you pay a whole US$1,499.99 here! The efficiency advantages of the RTX 4050 do not justify this price premium."
