The Dell Inspiron 15 3525 offers portability with its smaller screen size and lower weight, making it easier to carry around. It also has a touchscreen which may appeal to those who prefer interactive displays. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" provides a larger screen that's better for watching movies and multitasking, but this also makes it less portable. Both laptops are evenly matched in terms of performance, with similar processors and memory, which should suffice for general use and light engineering tasks. However, neither is ideal for intensive gaming or high-end 3D applications. The Lenovo stands out with a slightly longer battery life and a number pad on its keyboard, which some may find useful for data entry. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 15 3525 for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
If you prioritize sharp text and clear images in documents and web browsing, the Lenovo with its higher resolution and brighter display offers an advantage over the Dell. But for engineering and design, where color accuracy is key, neither laptop excels as they lack the wider color gamuts needed for professional editing work. Finally, for gaming and 3D applications, both fall short due to their lower refresh rates, although the Lenovo’s slightly better resolution and panel type provide a somewhat enhanced visual experience compared to the Dell.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" and Dell Inspiron 15 3525 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3525 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" are on par for casual gaming and 3D tasks primarily because both have AMD Ryzen 5 5625U Vega 7 integrated graphics and standard 60Hz refresh rate screens, which are sufficient for less demanding games and 3D graphics but may not provide the smoothest experience for intensive gaming or professional 3D work. While both laptops offer IPS screens with full HD resolution ensuring decent screen quality, neither is designed with a high-end GPU or a high-refresh-rate display that more serious gaming would benefit from.

How the Dell Inspiron 15 3525 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" compare to other laptops
"Dell's Inspiron 15 (3525) is a peppy-enough and affordable-enough home or remote work machine, but it's not very ambitious; it does little to go beyond the basics. More the concern: It’s readily overshadowed by a number of machines that outperform and outclass it. Even if the Inspiron can get the job done today, its competition has the mettle to keep doing the job tomorrow in a way the Inspiron simply can’t promise. Many of its slightly higher-end rivals have to be on sale (and frequently are) to match it on price, but the Inspiron 15 (3525) is outclassed even by some similarly priced options, making it a difficult recommendation."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
