The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 typically comes at a lower price and may be suitable for everyday tasks like browsing the internet, working with office applications, and streaming videos. It's a good fit if you want a budget-friendly option for general use. On the other hand, the MSI Katana 15 is designed with higher performance in mind and often includes features more suited to gaming or resource-intensive tasks like video editing or 3D modeling. It usually has a more powerful processor, better graphics, and a faster refresh rate on the screen, which are important for these activities. However, it's also typically heavier and may have a shorter battery life, which reduces its portability compared to the lighter and potentially longer-lasting battery of the Dell Inspiron. If you're a gamer or need the machine for heavy-duty work and don't mind spending more for higher performance, the MSI Katana 15 could be the better pick. Give Feedback

The MSI Katana 15 is good for gaming and AI, while the Dell Inspiron 15 3511 is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 is equipped with an integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics chip that delivers respectable performance but falls short in comparison to MSI Katana 15's dedicated Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, which is significantly more capable for gaming and 3D applications. Additionally, the MSI Katana 15 also offers a higher screen refresh rate which is crucial for a smoother gaming experience than what the Dell Inspiron's standard refresh rate screen can provide.

The MSI Katana 15 and Dell Inspiron 15 3511 are both good for engineering and design, though the MSI Katana 15 is somewhat better.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 is equipped with ample RAM and an Intel CPU with integrated graphics, making it suitable for engineering tasks, though its less powerful GPU and average screen quality limit its capabilities for design work that requires high graphical performance. In contrast, the MSI Katana 15 boasts a robust Nvidia GPU and a higher-quality screen which excel in rendering and design, but its lower amount of RAM could be a limiting factor for multitasking in complex engineering applications.

The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 has a better screen than the MSI Katana 15 for software development, while the MSI Katana 15 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 and MSI Katana 15 have screens that provide adequate clarity and brightness for tasks like browsing and document editing, but lack the resolution and panel quality to be considered good for general use. While acceptable for engineering and design due to resolution and fair color accuracy, they don't cover a wide enough color gamut to satisfy professional grade color work. For gaming and 3D applications, both models fall short because their screens have lower refresh rates and only moderate resolution, which can result in less fluid and sharp visuals compared to higher-end gaming laptops.

How the Dell Inspiron 15 3511 and the MSI Katana 15 compare to other laptops
"The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 (3511) is a solid, if unremarkable, 15-inch budget laptop. It improves on many of the issues we had with the previous 3505 model, and with the inclusion of Windows 11, the 3511 is already a step above its competition. The lack of a USB-C port, the subpar speakers, and the dim display are drawbacks to factor in, but it's still one of the better 15-inch budget laptops on the market, especially when you consider it's under $400."
"The MSI Katana 15 B12 combines a Gen12 CPU with an RTX 4050, which is actually not a bad idea for a budget gamer. The CPU is anything but bad and the GPU in the Katana 15 proves to be significantly more efficient than last year's models. However, our main point of criticism for budget gamers is the price: while you can get budget laptops with RTX 3060 from around US$800, you pay a whole US$1,499.99 here! The efficiency advantages of the RTX 4050 do not justify this price premium."
