The Dell Inspiron 15 3511 is usually significantly less expensive and offers a larger 15.6-inch screen, which is beneficial for multitasking and watching videos, but it's heavier and not as portable as the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13" which has a smaller 13.5-inch display. The Surface Laptop tends to have a better build quality and higher resolution screen, suitable for professional or design work where display quality is important. If performance is a priority, consider the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 as it may have a more powerful processor, but if budget and screen size are your top concerns, the Dell Inspiron could be a good fit. Both run Windows 11 Home, but the Surface's newer release could mean longer support down the line. The Dell, while heavier, has a wider array of ports, which is convenient if you use a lot of peripherals. Give Feedback

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13" has a better screen than the Dell Inspiron 15 3511 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The Dell Inspiron 15 3511, with its fair screen quality, provides adequate resolution and brightness, making it suitable for everyday tasks and casual use but less capable for color-sensitive engineering/design work and subpar for gaming due to a standard refresh rate. The Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13", with its higher resolution and brightness, offers a sharper and more vibrant display that benefits both general activities and professional applications like engineering and design, although like the Dell, it falls short for gaming due to the lack of a high refresh rate. Both laptops are not ideal for gaming or high-end 3D applications where fast screen refresh rates are crucial to keep up with rapid movements and provide a smooth visual experience.

How the Dell Inspiron 15 3511 and the Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 13" compare to other laptops
"The Dell Inspiron 15 3000 (3511) is a solid, if unremarkable, 15-inch budget laptop. It improves on many of the issues we had with the previous 3505 model, and with the inclusion of Windows 11, the 3511 is already a step above its competition. The lack of a USB-C port, the subpar speakers, and the dim display are drawbacks to factor in, but it's still one of the better 15-inch budget laptops on the market, especially when you consider it's under $400."
"The Surface Laptop 5 remains afloat as a solid machine. It's just not one that stands out in any particular way. Just like the last one. The biggest upgrade were some new components, but they perform in the same range as other laptops with them, and frequently at the bottom of that range. I suspect Microsoft's settings are very conservative to help keep cooling and battery life within reason in the older chassis design."
