When choosing between the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus and the HP Omen 16, consider that the Dell is a more budget-friendly option with a stronger emphasis on portability due to its smaller size and lighter weight. It should handle general use and lighter engineering tasks adequately. The HP Omen 16, on the other hand, is a bit pricier and caters more towards gaming and intensive tasks with its higher-end graphics capabilities and faster refresh rate display. It's less portable due to its larger size and heftier weight but offers a significant performance boost for graphics-intensive work like 3D modeling, machine learning, or gaming. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Allen Ngo | August 2022
"The Dell Inspiron 14 Plus is for power users on a budget. If you're looking to maximize CPU and GPU performance on your next 14-inch laptop, then consider the pricier Razer Blade 14 or Asus Zephyrus G14. If you're looking for a thin-and-light 14-inch Ultrabook, then the Asus Zenbook 14 or LG Gram 14 may be better options. For the best of both worlds, however, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus 7420 rides a fine line between extreme performance and portability while keeping prices at reasonable levels. Frequent travelers who rely on performance beyond what the Core U-series and integrated graphics series can offer will find the Dell to be a solid solution."

NotebookCheck

Christian Hintze | October 2021
"The Omen 16 has proven to be a fairly good mid-range gaming laptop with all-around improvements compared to the Omen 15. The high overall performance level across all use cases, the long battery life, and the good FHD display constitute the main advantages of this HP laptop. The main drawbacks are the faulty touchpad (one-off?) and the high latencies that can be observed even after just opening the browser. Furthermore, the useless, preinstalled 30-day trial versions of various software also fall under the category "unnecessary"."
