The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 offers a higher price range with better processing power, more storage, and a touchscreen, making it suitable for more demanding tasks and providing a quality 2-in-1 experience. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 is more budget-friendly with a lower price, lighter weight, and solid build for everyday use. However, the Dell has a longer battery life and is slightly heavier. Neither laptop is ideal for intensive gaming, but the Dell's higher performance makes it more suitable for engineering and 3D tasks, while the MSI offers portability and value for general use. The Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for software development, and content creation, while the MSI Modern 14 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
When considering laptops like the Dell Inspiron 14 and the MSI Modern 14 for general use, you'll find their screens are adequate because they likely offer sufficient resolution and acceptable brightness, but may not have the best panel technology for color accuracy or viewing angles. For engineering and design tasks, where precise color representation is essential, the fair quality hints at these models offering some level of color accuracy but falling short of the full professional color gamuts that more specialized screens would provide. Lastly, their suitability for Gaming and 3D is limited due to poorer refresh rates, which can lead to less fluid motion in fast-paced scenes, even though they may have decent resolution and basic panel types.

How the Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"We see no shame in an economy laptop missing the four-star mark. Frankly, we considered giving the Inspiron 14 2-in-1 three-and-a-half stars for its low price, competitive performance, and long battery life. Unfortunately, working with a screen that can't deliver at least 300 nits of brightness is simply no fun to the point of detrimental. Still, if you're looking for a convertible laptop on a tight budget, it's worth keeping an eye on Dell's sales and discounts. That Lavender Blue model is fairly tempting."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
