The Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 is good for general use, while the HP 14" Laptop is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 outperforms the HP 14" Laptop for general use primarily because it offers more memory and a more powerful CPU, leading to smoother multitasking and application performance. Additionally, the Dell's higher-quality screen and touchscreen functionality contribute to a better overall user experience, despite being less portable than the HP, which offers slightly longer battery life and better heat management.

The Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 is good for engineering and design, while the HP 14" Laptop is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 outperforms the HP 14" Laptop for engineering and design use largely because of its superior CPU, GPU, and higher-quality screen, which are paramount for running demanding engineering applications and tasks that require accurate color representation. While the HP 14" Laptop still offers decent performance for its category, it lags behind in these critical areas, making it less suitable for more intensive tasks and professional design work where color precision and processing power are very important. Additionally, factors like portability and keyboard quality are somewhat important, and while both laptops are fairly portable, differences in these areas are secondary to the core specifications needed for engineering and design.

The Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 has a better screen than the HP 14" Laptop for software development, and content creation, while the HP 14" Laptop has a better screen for general use, and engineering and design.
For general use such as browsing and streaming, both laptops have adequate resolution and brightness, offering a comfortable viewing experience without exceptional detail or vibrancy. Engineering and design work demand more accurate color representation, and while these laptops can handle basic tasks, professionals may find the color range lacking for precise projects. Gamers and 3D enthusiasts will find the lower refresh rates on these models result in less fluid motion and slower response times, which can be a disadvantage in fast-paced gaming or 3D rendering scenarios.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the HP 14" Laptop is poor.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7435 and the HP 14" Laptop are on similar footing for gaming and 3D tasks because both have integrated graphics rather than dedicated GPUs, limiting their ability to handle graphics-intensive games, and they are both equipped with a standard screen refresh rate of 60Hz, which is adequate but not ideal for fast-paced gaming. While the Dell has a stronger processor and its GPU is slightly more capable, which may offer a modest performance edge in some games and 3D applications, the HP has a brighter screen, which could make for a more vibrant display despite the lower color space coverage compared to the Dell.

How the Dell Inpsiron 14 7435 and the HP 14" Laptop compare to other laptops
"We see no shame in an economy laptop missing the four-star mark. Frankly, we considered giving the Inspiron 14 2-in-1 three-and-a-half stars for its low price, competitive performance, and long battery life. Unfortunately, working with a screen that can't deliver at least 300 nits of brightness is simply no fun to the point of detrimental. Still, if you're looking for a convertible laptop on a tight budget, it's worth keeping an eye on Dell's sales and discounts. That Lavender Blue model is fairly tempting."
"This feels like an ideal laptop for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a laptop and isn’t too bothered by things like build quality or construction. It’s a laptop that will be used to pay bills, keep track of expenses, do some online shopping, and will be tucked away in a spare bedroom/home office. It’s an appliance designed to do a job without fuss. It’s not a premium experience—the materials do feel a little cheap, the display won’t exactly wow you, and the battery life is nothing to write home about, especially if you’ve used more expensive devices. But overall it’s not too shabby, especially for the price."
