If you need a more compact and lighter option that's easy to carry around, the Dell Inspiron 14 5425 is the better choice. However, if you favor a larger screen for tasks like multitasking or enjoying media with a bit more screen real estate, the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 would be preferable, although it is heavier. Both have the same processor and graphics, meaning performance should be similar, and both are touch-enabled. The Inspiron 14 offers better battery life, so it might last longer on a charge, while the Inspiron 16 comes with Windows 11 Pro, offering additional features over the Home edition found on the Inspiron 14. The Dell Inspiron 14 5425 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 have similar screen quality.
For general use, both the Dell Inspiron 14 5425 and the 16 5625 provide adequate screen characteristics with sufficient resolution and brightness, but they may lack the wider color range and higher resolutions preferred by professionals in engineering and design. Their color gamut coverage may be enough for basic engineering tasks, but detailed design work demanding precise colors might require better Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 adherence found in higher-end displays. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates of these Dell models could limit the smoothness and responsiveness that gamers seek, even though the resolution and panel type are acceptable for casual play.

How the Dell Inspiron 14 5425 and the Dell Inspiron 16 5625 compare to other laptops
"A slim chassis, an acceptable weight (1.6 kg) and a real-world battery life of almost 13 hours turn the Inspiron into a mobile companion. Good: The battery can not only be charged using Dell's proprietary power adapter, but also with a universal USB-C power adapter (min. 45 watts). Office and Internet applications are handled by the built-in combination of Ryzen 5 5625U APU and 16 GB of RAM just as easily as modest computer games. Heat and noise development are generally okay, but the laptop should work a bit quieter under full load."
"I think there is fair value in the Inspiron 16 this year. Very little has changed with the laptop and my opinion hasn’t really changed either. In other words, I like it. Overall, I think the pros far outweigh the cons of this laptop and the price is certainly justifiable. I found this to be a great typer and I could potentially work all day on this machine, provided I don’t need a graphics card."
