If you prioritize high screen resolution and graphics performance for gaming or creative work, go for the MSI Stealth GS77, noting it is more expensive and heavier, which may affect portability. However, if you prefer something more affordable that still offers solid performance for general and engineering use with slightly better battery life and portability, consider the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17. Keep in mind the Zenbook has a lower resolution screen and a less powerful graphics card, which may not be ideal for intensive gaming or 3D work. Give Feedback

The MSI Stealth GS77 and ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 are both very good for engineering and design, though the MSI Stealth GS77 is somewhat better.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17, with its AMD Ryzen CPU and Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, offers substantial power for engineering and design, while the MSI Stealth GS77 steps up performance with an Intel i7 CPU and a superior Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU, alongside a higher resolution screen, which is especially beneficial for detailed design work. Although both laptops are well-equipped with ample RAM and quality screens, the MSI's advantages in processing and graphics capabilities, and a better contrast ratio make it very good for demanding engineering tasks, but it's slightly heavier and less portable compared to the Zenbook.

How the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 and the MSI Stealth GS77 compare to other laptops
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
