The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is less expensive and offers ample performance for general use, with significant battery life and portability suitable for those on the go. This choice is ideal if you prioritize cost-saving and portability over top-tier performance. On the other hand, the MSI Raider GE78 is pricier but has superior performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and intensive engineering tasks. The higher price gives you a more powerful processor, top-of-the-line graphics, a higher resolution display with a faster refresh rate, which is better for gaming and professional creative work. However, this model is heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable. Give Feedback

However, the Zenbook Pro offers a high-quality screen and a capable CPU, making it still a strong choice for general use and less graphically intensive tasks.

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, where panel type, resolution, and brightness are key, the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 provides pleasing visuals and clarity for everyday tasks, while the MSI Raider GE78's very good screen enhances these aspects even further, potentially making for a more vibrant and sharp viewing experience. In engineering and design, professionals need accurate colors, which the ASUS offers adequately, but the MSI might excel with its likely wider color gamuts, resulting in more precise color representation for detailed projects. Regarding 3D applications, although both laptops have lower refresh rates that are less suited for high-frame-rate gaming or intensive 3D modeling, the MSI's superior resolution and panel quality may still deliver a moderately better experience within this constraint.

How the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 and the MSI Raider GE78 compare to other laptops
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
