The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 offers high performance suitable for intensive engineering tasks, 3D work, and even some gaming, with its powerful processor, dedicated graphics card, and ample storage. However, it's less portable due to its larger screen size and heavier weight. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 is more budget-friendly and portable, making it well-suited for general use and basic tasks on the go; it has a decent build, but its performance for demanding tasks like engineering or gaming won't match the ASUS. The MSI also has a shorter battery life, so it might require more frequent charging. Give Feedback

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 and MSI Modern 14 are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is somewhat better.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 offers better gaming and 3D performance largely due to its Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, which is more powerful than the integrated Vega 7 graphics found in the MSI Modern 14's AMD Ryzen 5 7530U processor. Additionally, while both laptops have similar screen refresh rates, the higher-end GPU in the Zenbook Pro 17 will deliver smoother and more detailed visuals in demanding applications.

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is very good for engineering and design, while the MSI Modern 14 is only fair.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is a better fit for engineering and design because it comes with a more powerful AMD Ryzen 9 CPU, double the RAM, and a higher-tier Nvidia RTX GPU compared to the MSI Modern 14 which has a mid-range AMD Ryzen 5 CPU and integrated Vega graphics. Additionally, the ASUS has a larger screen with better color coverage, which is crucial for design work; however, the MSI Modern 14 is lighter and more portable, with superior keyboard quality and speaker quality, although these are less crucial for engineering tasks.

"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
