Choosing between the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 involves several tradeoffs. The ASUS offers more storage, a higher amount of RAM, and a more powerful processor and graphics card, suited for intensive engineering tasks, 3D rendering, machine learning, and somewhat for gaming. It has a larger 17-inch screen but weighs more, affecting portability. On the other hand, the Lenovo is lighter, easier to carry, and has a smaller 15-inch display, ideal for general use and higher portability at a more affordable price. However, with lesser storage, RAM, and an integrated graphics card, its performance is limited compared to the ASUS, making it less suitable for demanding tasks. Additionally, the Lenovo has a touchscreen feature which the ASUS lacks, but its battery life is shorter than the ASUS. Give Feedback

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is good.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 excels in general use due to its more powerful CPU, larger RAM capacity, superior screen quality which includes better color coverage, and substantial battery capacity, contributing to its very good performance, although it's less portable due to its size and weight. Conversely, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, while more portable, falls short in general use because of its modest CPU, less RAM, lower screen color accuracy, and smaller battery, which makes it fair for less demanding tasks.

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 is poor.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is better for gaming and 3D applications because it has a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card, which offers superior performance to the integrated AMD Vega 6 GPU found in the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3. While both laptops feature IPS screens with the same refresh rate, the Zenbook's more powerful CPU and GPU combination, along with better screen quality, makes it more suitable for intense graphical tasks.

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
