The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17, priced higher, offers significant advantages for intensive tasks with a stronger processor, more RAM, and a dedicated graphics card, making it excellent for engineering, 3D rendering, machine learning, and casual gaming. However, its heavier weight reduces portability. The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is more budget-friendly and lighter, hence more portable, but it has less power, less RAM, and integrated graphics, suitable mainly for general use. Both have similar screen sizes and resolutions, but the ASUS offers a brighter screen and wider color coverage, which translates into better visuals for creative work. The battery life is longer on the Lenovo IdeaPad, which could be a determining factor if you prioritize untethered usage. Give Feedback

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is very good for general use, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is good.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 outperforms the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for general use primarily due to its superior CPU and larger RAM, which result in faster and more efficient multitasking and processing. Additionally, the ASUS offers better screen quality with higher brightness and color space coverage, making it ideal for tasks that require visual accuracy, but it is heavier and less portable compared to the lighter Lenovo, which might still be adequate for less demanding usage despite its modest battery and performance.

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is somewhat better.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 offers better gaming and 3D performance with its Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, which is more capable than the integrated Vega 7 graphics on the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17". Both laptops have the same screen refresh rate, but the more powerful GPU on the ASUS makes it more suitable for demanding graphics tasks.

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is only fair.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17, with its higher-end CPU, significantly more RAM, and dedicated Nvidia GPU, is well suited for demanding engineering and design tasks, whereas the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" has a modest CPU, less RAM, and integrated Vega graphics, making it less capable for intensive workflows but also lighter and more portable. Screen quality on both is comparable with full HD IPS displays, but the ASUS excels with higher color accuracy, which is essential for design work; however, this comes with added weight and potentially lesser portability compared to the lighter Lenovo.

The ASUS Zenbook Pro 17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, both the ASUS ZenBook Pro 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" offer satisfactory visuals with ample resolution and brightness, ensuring a clear and vibrant display for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming. When it comes to engineering and design, both laptops provide a wide range of colors, crucial for precision in visual work, though they may not match the top-tier displays designed specifically for professional color work. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rate of these screens may detract from the smoothness and responsiveness that avid gamers and professionals in 3D graphics typically require.

"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
