If you need a laptop primarily for general use with occasional intensive tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or engineering, the ASUS Zenbook Duo with its better performance in these areas could be worth the higher price. Its two screens might also boost productivity if you're multitasking frequently. However, the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3, being more budget-friendly, still offers decent general use capabilities and a longer battery life, making it a good choice if you are concerned about cost and prioritize longer unplugged usage. The IdeaPad is also slightly lighter, which may make it more convenient to carry around. Keep in mind that while the Zenbook Duo has a higher resolution and better color coverage which can be beneficial for creative work, the IdeaPad has a larger screen, which might be easier on the eyes for everyday tasks. How the ASUS Zenbook Duo (2024) and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ZenBook Duo's second screen is like the Apple Touch Bar, but better. Most would agree that having two screens instead of one can really boost productivity and the ZenBook Duo is no different in this regard. It's tough going back to just one screen after becoming accustomed to spacious dual-screen setups. For a laptop form factor, however, users will have to accept some compromises. Firstly, weight is the most obvious drawback as the system is several hundred grams heavier than a regular ZenBook 14. Additionally, colors on the second screen will not be as vivid as the main display."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | May 2023
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is decent for use as a workstation. Its Intel CPU and integrated graphics can only handle light productivity tasks, not demanding workloads like video editing or 3D graphics. You also can't do any color-critical work because the available displays have a narrow color gamut. It has a good port selection, but its USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 4 support. On the upside, it has a comfortable keyboard and doesn't get hot or loud under load."
